Due to the length of the project, the project will be divided into a southern segment and a northern segment. The schedule below shows the proposed schedule for completion of the project. This schedule is based on appropriate funding, which is currently not available.
FDOT will be overseeing the design and construction of the new I-10 interchange portion of the project. At the same time, the County will be responsible for completing the southern segment of the Beulah Beltway in order to safely accommodate the increased traffic from the new interchange. Therefore, the schedule for these two activities is expected to occur and complete at the same time. The schedule for the northern segment is longer primarily because a more detailed environmental study will be required.
WHEN WILL THE INTERCHANGE AND THE ROADWAY BE BUILT
The interchange and southern segment are expected to begin construction in 2023. At this time there is no identified funding for the construction of the northern segment and therefore any timeframe estimating when construction on that portion could begin is just a best guess. The schedule shown above provides an optimistic estimation of when construction could occur based on the typical time it takes to complete all the required steps to permit the construction of a new roadway.
